Descripción
Sumario:The objective of this research work was to evaluate the environmental sustainability in the production of colored native cotton (Gossypium barbadense) in the Research, Innovation and Agricultural Development City (CIIDEA) at ESPAM-MFL, the first phase was oriented to characterize the production of colored native cotton, which determined qualitative and quantitative particularities through the analysis of three agronomic and three agroproductive variables, which established the accession with the best agronomic and agroproductive characteristics. In the second phase, the percentage of environmental sustainability was defined through the application of four indicators and twelve sub-indicators that evaluated aspects such as the management of biodiversity, soil, pests, among others, which determined that cotton cultivation has a 76,56% sustainability, which, according to the assessment scale used, indicates that it is at an intermediate level of sustainability. Finally, a guide to good environmental practices was prepared to be applied to colored native cotton crops that allows optimal production and sustainable development of the same.
