要約:The objective of this study was to determine the reproductive phenology of two species of pitahaya culture, Hylocereus undatus Britt et Rose and Hylocereus megalanthus in the Canton Rocafuerte of the province of Manabi. A production cycle was evaluated in the red (H. undatus) and yellow (H. megalanthus) species, 8 blocks with 10 plants each were selected. Two statistical evaluation methods were used, arithmetic mean for the analysis of reproductive phenology variables and a completely random block design for the study of performance component variables. The results obtained determined that the pitahaya red took 42 days from sprouting floral until the maturity of the fruit, while the yellow 99 days, under the pitahaya yellow major achievement, and constant thermal or heat buildup with 193.7 GDD, and the pitahaya red 79.55 GDD; in the performance, the pitaya red obtained the average yield kilograms per plant (RKG/PL) 4.08, being the yield kilogram per hectare (RKG/HA) 4530.10; the pitahaya yellow obtained the average for RKG/PL 8.07, the RKG/HA showed an average of 8968.55; the benefit-cost ratio favors the production of the pitahaya yellow with 1.05 in comparison to the pitahaya red with 0.53.
