Riassunto:The objective of this thesis was to evaluate the effect of coenzyme Q10 addiction on the sperm characteristics of refrigerated pig semen. For this, a 30-month-old Yorkshire breeding pig was collected from. With treatments organized in a DBCA design with factorial arrangement (4 x 7), these being: [T1: no addition (Control, Androstar® Plus); T2: BTS + 0.02 mg CoQ10; T3: BTS +0.04 mg of CoQ10, T4: BTS +0.06 mg CoQ10, over ml of semen]. The variables to be measured were: motility, normality, vitality, morphology (NAR, DAR, GCs). The results were: the morphological parameters did not show statistical difference (P> 0.05); in the day factor the NAR variables were highlighted on the sixth day (94.06 ± 0.73); DAR the seventh day (7.12 ± 0.59) and GCs the second day (2.10 ± 0.19). On the other hand, a significant difference (P <0.05) was found, in the effect of the antioxidant on motility, where it was highlighted on the first day (89.37 ± 1.28) and in normality (84.68 ± 1.67), while there was no statistical difference in vitality (P> 0.05), however, the second day was highlighted (94.87 ± 0.36). About the cost analysis it was found that when preparing a seminal dose lasting 7 days, the BTS + CoQ10 cost $1.20 and Androstar® Plus a cost of $ 2.15 in which $0.90 cents per dose is saved. It is concluded that the addition of CoQ10 may be used to improve reproductive and productive performance in pig farms.
