Yhteenveto: | The cultivation of musaceae is of great importance for the economy of Ecuador due to the creation of sources of employment and generation of dividends for the country, from its activity. Therefore, the objective of this study was to characterize the production systems of plantain (Musa paradisiaca L) in small and medium producers of the Guabinero community, Eloy Alfaro canton - Esmeraldas. The investigation was carried out in 119 farms selected through a sampling technique. The historical trend and an analytical method were used, through the bibliographic review, from a general perspective, as well as a descriptive analysis with the use of surveys and interviews with plantain producers in the area. The results indicated that 39% of the owners of the farms are adults between 50 - 60 years old, 79.83% correspond to the male gender and with a low level of schooling. The surfaces of the musaceae plantations are small, without technological applications in crop management, so this problem has had a negative influence on health, product quality, and reduced productivity rates. However, the implementation of strategies that promote the optimization of resources, constitutes the key point to achieve improvements in the profitability and standard of living of the producers, considering the participation of governments in turn and human talent specialized in training or technical assistance, with a view to improving production, thus increasing profitability for the producer and community development. |
