Summary:The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of job satisfaction on the performance of the workers of the Public Service Directorate of the GAD of the Bolívar canton for the proposal of improvement actions aimed at strengthening both factors. The methodology adheres to a mixed approach, where quantitative and qualitative methods, techniques and tools were combined. The results showed that 48.89% of workers were dissatisfied and that the level of performance was determined to be 77.78% good. Through the correlational analysis of the variables, it was found that the work knowledge dimension of the job satisfaction variable affects five dimensions of job performance, such as: Job knowledge with a negative correlation of (-0.018); similarly, in the Quality of Service dimension with a correlation of (-0.015), in the Attitude towards the Institution dimension with a Pearson correlation of (-0.027). It also affected the Responsibility dimension (0.013) and the Productivity dimension (0.128) with a low correlation. All this is caused by the absence of institutional plans, lack of standardized administrative parameters, lack of incentives, among others, presented in the cause-effect diagram. To this end, the implementation of actions that improve job satisfaction and work performance in the Public Service Directorate of GAD Bolívar was proposed, with the realization of plans, programs and activities that promote the labor well-being of workers, emphasizing that it is essential to keep them motivated because this increases their sense of belonging. loyalty, gratitude, commitment and satisfaction.
