要約:This research work focuses on evaluating the impact that Airbnb causes to formal accommodations in Manabí province, the research work was mixed, with a descriptive approach. To achieve its execution, 3 phases were carried out, which began with a diagnosis, in which a study was carried out on the way formal accommodation establishments provide their services, how they are structured and if they are negatively affected by the appearance from the Airbnb app. All this was done through the review of official documents and surveys addressed to hoteliers in the province, as a result it was obtained that there are 366 establishments, of which 50% are affected by the rental of accommodation on the platform. The second phase corresponds to the Airbnb assessment, this was carried out with the help of interviews and bibliographic searches, which had the purpose of knowing the perception of the hosts, the experience of the guests and the management that they have in said business model, where it was determined that in Manabí there are a total of 277 properties that work informally, hosting mostly foreign tourists. Finally, the third phase was based on the design of four strategic proposals aimed at formal accommodation, which are accompanied by matrices that describe the different proposals for improvements based on innovation, technology and the quality of services they offer.
