要約:The research that was developed was qualitative with a descriptive approach, the objective of which was the evaluation of the tourist potential for the design of alternative tourism products in the central area of Manabí, composed of the Bolívar, Chone, Junín and Tosagua cantons and consisted of three phases, the first was the analysis of the tourist territory in which the main characteristics in terms of attractions, services, management and governance were determined, this was carried out through the collection and analysis of bibliographic information, interviews and surveys. The second phase corresponds to the evaluation of the tourism potential, the same one was carried out through a system of twenty-seven tourism indicators classified into four groups; competitiveness, quality of the natural environment, quality of the cultural environment and attitude of the host community, thus it was determined that of the evaluated tourist attractions and / or resources there is none with high potential as they do not meet 75% or more of the indicators, however, the sites with medium potentiality totaled twenty-three since they obtained from 50% to 69% of the indicators, while the resources with low potentiality were twenty-seven. This evaluation allowed the development of the third phase, which was the design of alternative tourism products in the area, thus four tourism products were developed focused on the modalities of rural tourism, ecotourism and adventure tourism, considering the tourism potential of the territory and the demand needs.
