要約:The objective of this research was to obtain an environmentally friendly bioplastic as an alternative to the use of polymers of synthetic origin. For this, potato starch of the superchola variety (Solanum tuberosum L.) was considered as raw material, and from the physical-chemical properties such as: humidity (81.70 %), ashes, fats, proteins y amylose, the degree of purity of the same was determined. 4 treatments with 3 repetitions each were proposed, obtaining a total of 12 experimental units, which were constituted by the combination of different proportions of potato starch (3.5 g and 4.5 g) and percentages of glycerin as a plasticizing agent (2.5 % and 5 %). The bioplastics were subjected to soil degradation tests, the anaerobic degradation process being more effective at a depth of 12cm in a time period of 20 days. Physicochemical analyzes were performed on bioplastics such as: moisture content, solubility, thickness and permeability. Then the plastic sheets were used to manufacture biodegradable bags, which were subjected to physical tests for tensile strength and elongation. All treatments were suitable for the manufacture of covers, especially T4 (4.5 g of starch and 5 % glycerin), which presented the best physicochemical characteristics, however, it did not exceed the requirements of tensile strength and elongation stipulated by the INEN 2290: 2015-12 standard
