總結: | This research was developed with the purpose of promoting Portoviejo as a Smart Tourist Destination through the development of a strategic plan with which the canton has a tool that is a tourist and economic alternative to the development of the canton and its inhabitants. In order to achieve what was proposed, we worked from a non-experimental exploratory level, with a mixed approach. A three-phase methodology was applied: the first phase consisted of a characterization of the canton through which the current state of the political, environmental, social, economic and tourism areas of Portoviejo was determined; the second phase consisted of a strategic plan proposal with its programs and projects that will serve as a baseline for planning Portoviejo as a DTI; and, in the third phase, a schedule of activities, impact indicators and evaluation parameters were established, with which the planned activities would be followed up. It was concluded that the lack of tourism innovation, poor accessibility to tourist destinations, poor signage, poorly trained staff, low tourism promotion, and the diagnosed shortcomings are a reflection of the poor tourism and territorial planning that have prevented the technological development of tourism in the canton of Portoviejo. This research work contributes with strategies that allow public and private entities to implement and link projects that help boost the tourism sector and local development. |
