الملخص:The objective of the study was to assess the potential of grafting in the rehabilitation of robusta coffee. The experiment was established in a completely randomized design (DCA) with four treatments: Terminal scion grafting on shoot (T1), Lateral spur grafting on shoot (T2), Terminal spur grafting on bark (T3) and Lateral cortex spur grafting (T4). For the main response variable, the Chi-square test was used (p<0.05). The main variables evaluated were survival (%), graft length (cm), plant vigor and phytosanitary status. The treatments evaluated were: terminal scion bud grafting, lateral bud grafting, terminal bark grafting, and lateral bark grafting. The survival data (%) were analyzed with the chi square test and the data on shoot length (cm), plant vigor and phytosanitary status with a Completely Randomized Design (DCA). The survival treatments (%) did not present significant statistical differences (p>0.05) between the treatments. In the study of the variable length of the graft, it is mentioned that for the evaluations at 30 and 60 days there was no greater growth in the length of the graft. But, for the results of the evaluation at 90 days, statistical differences (p<0.05) were evidenced between the terminal and lateral scion grafts in bud, which registered values greater than 17 cm in length compared to the grafts in the cortex. According to the results obtained for grafts in rehabilitation processes of adult robusta coffee plants, it is indicated that the technology is viable with spike-type grafting on shoots, due to the fact that they presented better growth conditions, vigor and health status.
