El estudio se desarrolló en 94 vaconas pre púberes, con un peso promedio de 325 kilogramos y una edad entre 20 y 24 meses; empleando un protocolo con dispositivo intravaginal de progesterona y benzoato de estradiol (P4+BE) y folículo ≥ 8 mm, los cuales fueron divididos en cuatro tratamientos:T1; P4+BE y folículo ≤8 mm, T2; P4 y folículo ≥ 8mm, T3; P4 y folículo ≤ 8 mm, T4; P4 y folículo ≤ 8 mm; el experimento se planteó con un diseño completamente al azar, los resultados determinaron significancia estadística entre tratamientos para las variables de tamaño de folículo dominante y tasa de ovulación (p<0,05), mientras que en la variable tamaño de cuerpo lúteo no se presentó diferencia estadística significativa (p>0,05).
