Situational analysis of community tourism in the province of Azuay

The present study investigated the current situation of community tourism entrepreneurships in Azuay. The study of bibliographic sources in this field along with its link to the process of creating community tourism as an alternative to improve the quality of life of the population was developed. The information was collected by examining the enterprises through interviews and mystery clients. The importance of international cooperation in these projects was analyzed as the motivator of these entrepreneurships from their planning stage up to their creation and establishment phases. The achievement of the objectives was determined based on the results of the analysis. Finally, it was determined if the studied cases fulfilled the necessary principles for a successful development of community tourism.
