The situational diagnosis, as an initial stage for designing agrotourism offer, considered background literature related to similar studies carried out in Ecuador, fine cocoa farm classification, description of geographic location of potential areas and destinations, and the assessment of natural and cultural resources associated with the tourist circuit. We used different methods, techniques and tools such as observation, document compilation, interviews and cartography. The diagnosis of resources forming natural and cultural landscapes is the foundation for designing a tourist circuit, selecting routes, destinations, and for describing possible future experiences. |

El objetivo de la investigación fue diagnosticar los recursos turísticos que conforman los paisajes naturales y culturales asociados al circuito cacao fino de aroma en Manabí. Se desarrolló una propuesta metodológica para la obtención de los resultados, y para la determinación del potencial de esos componentes en el diseño de ofertas agroturísticas en la misma provincia. El diagnóstico situacional como primera fase para el diseño de ofertas agroturísticas, considera antecedentes de estudios similares en Ecuador, la caracterización de las fincas de cacaoteros, la descripción de la localización geográfica de las áreas potenciales y localización del circuito y la evaluación de los recursos naturales y culturales asociativos del circuito; para ello se realizó recopilación documental, entrevista y cartográfica.
