Shrnutí:During his first stay in Europe, Jorge Carrera Andrade (1903-1978), perhaps the most renowned Ecuadorian poet of the 20th century, translated a small novel by Boris Lavrenef (1891-1959) titled El séptimo camarada for the Cervantes publishing house in Barcelona. This essay examines the production conditions of Carrera Andrade’s translation, some characteristics of the translation and reflects on the place that this work occupies within his poetics.
