إضافة وسم | الملخص: | This research analyzes the crisis of political parties in Ecuador during the past twenty years. Among the main causes for this crisis, it discusses the lack of capacity to carter for organizations and their necessities in accordance with those whom they represent, in addition to voter volatility and appearance of new associations like political movements. Insufficient reply to those parties is directly proportional with their lack of representativeness; provoking voters to search for other options. I draw upon “historic institutionalism” to explain this phenomenon since political parties are institutions with trajectory in time and space. The selected methodology has been qualitative, according to the study concepts of political parties, system of parties and crisis of parties. Finally, I analyze exogenous factors in the context of party crises, such as the appearance of social and political movements, launching social claims with a national character but a more regional scope.
