Summary:This research begins by indicating the use and importance of the process known as territorial distribution for the distribution of markets as a complementary technique in market research within Marketing plans. As a general objective, its application in the business life cycle is described, in order to develop this approach, definitions of distributions, opportunity cost, market study, treatment of franchise contracts, corporate companies, geographic trade lines and strategic alliances are pointed out. The methodology has an exploratory design, experts from the area of customs management, director of marketing and regional sales were used. An interview was applied to them to obtain their knowledge about treatment, form of application, criteria, problems and inconveniences, formal legal contracts, role of State mediation and recommendation of territorial divisions in Ecuador. Among the conclusions reaffirms that the dealings are effectively applied in the business life cycle, are directly related to sales and logistics process, strategic alliances favor their total execution, must be included in market research and must be covered by contracts for its legal formality.
