| Gaia: | The purpose of this investigative work was to determine the characteristics of the classroom environment and the level of academic motivación foro learning among first and seventh semester students in the Educational Psychology program at the National University of Chimborazo, highlighting their most important aspects and establishing differences according to gender and semester, with a sample of 83 students; 69 women and 14 men. The investigative study had a mixed approach, combining the objectivity of the results with the subjective observation of the problem, in a descriptive manner. The survey technique used with an 8-question polytomous scale questionnaire instrument to gather information about the students' Classroom Environment, while the Academic Motivation Scale (AMS) used to collect data on academic motivación levels, measuring intrinsic motivación, extrinsic motivación, and amotivation. The obtained results were the following: concerning the characteristics of the classroom environment, classrooms observed to have suitable and pleasant environments, teaching methodologies, furniture, acoustics, temperature, and lighting foro the development of subjects. However, there is a need foro improvement in student interaction. Regarding extrinsic motivación, the level among students was high; intrinsic motivación also had a high level, while amotivation had a low level. Furthermore, it was evident in the comparison that male students are more motivated than female students, and in the comparison by semester, it was found that students in later semesters are more motivated than those in the initial semesters. |
