Shrnutí: | ABSTRACT Introduction: CKD is a disease of public health interest, becoming in recent years one of the most important non-communicable diseases affecting millions of people worldwide, of which 80% come from developing countries. General objective: To determine the quality of life in chronic kidney patients with hemodialysis at the Carlos Andrade Marín Hospital, Quito, 2020. Material and methods: This study is quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional. This research has a descriptive design. Since its objective is to determine how patients with Chronic Kidney Disease in replacement treatment with hemodialysis perceive their quality of life, it is also cross-sectional, it is delimited in time (September - December 2020). Results: Concerning the evaluated areas of functional status, it was observed that the vast majority rate it between good and very good, so we can say that the disease in the first months of treatment does not cause any significant alteration. The population studied, referring to age and sex, it can be mentioned that most of the patients are in the age range of 40 to 59 years, which corresponds to the Mature Adult stage according to Erikson's life cycle. The predominant sex is male, with a ratio of almost 2 to 1. Conclusion: With the results obtained, we can say that the perception of the quality of life of chronic kidney patients undergoing hemodialysis treated at Hospital Carlos Andrade Marín is from Good to Very good. It has hardly ever interfered with your daily activities. Key Words: Chronic Kidney Disease, Hemodialysis, Quality of life. Reviewed by: Mgs.
