要約:Yoga is an ancient therapy that consists of the use of breathing techniques and postures, which have been used successfully to help with stress and anxiety reduction. The aim was to describe the effect of yoga therapy in reducing anxiety in cancer patients. A documentary study is presented, executed between the months of April-August 2019. We conducted a systematic review of documents published in electronic databases linked to health topics such as: PubMed, Scielo, Dialnet, Cochrane plus, Redalyc, Elsevier; and from national and international agencies. The population consists of 70 articles and a sample of 30 bibliographies. It was obtained that the materials consulted demonstrate the effectiveness of the implementation of yoga in the treatment of anxiety in oncological patients, bearing in mind that it is more effective when the therapy was implemented before starting chemotherapy. Also, greater efficacy was evidenced in breast, lung cancer, and metastatis. As for the duration of the treatment, the authors mention that the number of sessions depends on several factors. Besides, most agree that it is recomended to perform the yoga twice a week, lasting between 30 to 60 minutes, for one month and to increase the time to 90 minutes and at least three months.
