Gaia:This research explores the use of 4.0 digital platforms in content distribution by El Universo Newspaper on Facebook from January to June 2023. The study examines the types of 4.0 platforms utilized, their frequency of use, the metrics achieved, and their impact on users. A mixed-methods approach was employed, incorporating a literature review, a content distribution analysis matrix, and interviews to enrich the findings. The content analysis revealed that while internal use of 4.0 platforms, such as AI and Big Data, is prevalent, only 48 pieces of content were created and distributed externally using these technologies. The results suggest that 4.0 platforms are effective for internal processes but yield low engagement metrics and a negative impact on external audiences. The study concludes that integrating 4.0 platforms more extensively in content creation and distribution could foster new trends and enhance digital communication and journalism.
