الملخص:The present research project was developed in the Sacred Heart Psychiatric Institute of the city of Quito, Cognitive Impairment in paranoid, hebephrenic, undifferentiated and residual schizophrenic patients was analyzed, 15 people participated who met the inclusion criteria. This study is of field, non-experimental design, cross-section and descriptive level, since the variables were analyzed quantitatively, obtaining values of frequencies and percentages. The psychological battery used was the Neuropsi Test, which indicated the level of Cognitive Impairment, obtaining as results: 1 patient with 6.7% normal, 5 patients with 33.3% mild cognitive impairment, 3 patients with 20% moderate cognitive impairment and 6 patients with 40% severe cognitive impairment. It was concluded that schizophrenic patients mostly present a level of severe cognitive impairment, despite the fact that there is no statistically significant relationship between Schizophrenia subtypes and Cognitive Impairment level, as well as the existence of deficits in their cognitive functioning, being affected, attention, memory, language and executive functions, while the area of least involvement is orientation. Given the results obtained, it is recommended to provide an adequate follow-up by the professionals for the preservation of their functions, as well as to develop strategies to ensure that the patient complies adequately with the treatment given by the professional, in order to obtain long-term benefits
