要約:This investigative work seeks to establish the correlation between overprotection and personality with seventh year students EGB parallels A, B, C of the Educational Unit "Isabel de Godín". Since knowing about the overprotection of parents hinders the personality of seventh grade students becoming shy, insecure and dependent¨; that is why we have analyzed these two variables that allow us to show that parents are overprotective with their children, preventing the autonomy of students when making decisions, performing activities that correspond to their age; therefore, it is very important that parents know what it is to protect so as not to reach an extreme of overprotection. This research is of basic, field and bibliographic type, the techniques and instruments that were used for the parents were questionnaire survey and for the students a psychological questionnaire - personality questionnaire for children (EPQ-J). Through this it was possible to demonstrate that there are overprotective characteristics and behaviors determined through the analysis that effectively affects the personality. Recommendations were presented to parents to raise awareness about what it is to protect and overprotect; in the same way to the educational institution jointly with the DECE that is carried out workshops for the implementation of activities on how the children should be raised in an appropriate way.
