Description
Résumé:The objective of the present study was to analyze the implications of the “JAWS” screen reader as a pedagogical resource in the teaching-learning process of the aboriginal period of current Ecuador for people with visual disabilities at the APRODVICH Specialized Educational Support Center – Riobamba. The research that has been developed responds to a study with a mixed approach, applying survey and interview techniques with their respective instruments, such as the interview guide and the questionnaire. It was identified that the management of JAWS by the educational community of APRODVICH is not constant, preferring the use of Braille reading and writing and the recorder for the development of the subject of History, thus exposing the need for resources that allow them to innovate in the of the way of teaching. JAWS is presented as a pedagogical resource that contributes to improving the training of people with visual disabilities. Due to its multifunctional feature (voice synthesizer, compatible with Internet pages, reading and writing texts), through the screen reader, students operate the computer while carrying out their academic tasks. For this reason, it is suggested to the APRODVICH community to use JAWS within the teaching of History.
