Visibilización de Jaime Vargas, en las ediciones digitales de los diarios El Comercio y El Universo, periodo septiembre 2019 – mayo 2020.

RESUME The main objective of the research project is to determine the visibility of Jaime Vargas in the digital editions of the newspapers El Comercio and El Universo, period September 2019 - May 2020; so that the scientific, historical-logical, inductive, deductive, analytical and descriptive methods were used. The applied methodology was mixed, since the results were qualified and quantified in different analysis matrices. For the development of this study, 100 publications were randomly selected (50 from each medium) and the techniques used were documentary review, content analysis, and interviews with two professionals who work in newspapers and an external expert familiar with the subject. Thus, the results of the investigation showed that the visibility of Jaime Vargas was focused mainly from the political sphere even when his struggle was social, and that the newspapers categorized the information regarding the indigenous leader based on what emerged at the time, taking into account The relevance, public interest and immediacy of the information are considered as a requirement of journalism on the web. Finally, with the aforementioned, a scientific article was prepared that exhibits the research findings and was sent to a journal for evaluation. This, with the purpose of contributing to the scientific community.
