| Shrnutí: | The educational process may fail if the obtained after the evaluation of learning do not reflect the real knowledge achieved by students. In the past, within the university level, the evaluation process was not taken into account as it was only based upon and imposed under the teacher´s criteria. In 2008, due to the law of higher education as well as some accreditation policies stated by the government, the evaluation process finally took priority. The aim of the present study is to determine if there is a relationship between the type of the instruments and the characteristics of the summative instruments with the academic perfomance of the students enrolled a Physics I that belongs to the major of Architecture and Civil Engineering at “Universidad Católica de cuenca”. The results of the instruments applied by the teacher are compared to the instruments designed and applied by the graduate student, both in the same level, with the purpose to determine and contrast their quality. Observation checklists are utilized to examine the incidence of the instruments applied in the academic perfomance of the students. Unlike some common questions related to problema solving, the instrument created contains objective questions, multiple choice questions, simple selection questions, ordering questions, completion exercises, selection of elements, relation of columns and context. These questions are well written in accordance to the content of the syllabus. To conclude, the relationship between the instruments of summative evaluation and the academic perfomance of the students is determined and it is evidenced that the instruments applied u¿in the present study improved the academnic perfomance of the students in a meaningful way. |
