要約:This research aimed to analyze the relationship between the meaning of life and quality of life in cancer patients. A bibliographic, descriptive-level study was conducted following the PRISMA methodology. Information was collected through systematic searches in high-impact databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, and ProQuest, considering publications from 2014 to 2024 and using the Boolean operators "AND," "OR," and "NOT." Inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied to the article selection. A total of 33 scientific articles were included and assessed for methodological quality using the Critical Review Form – Quantitative Studies (CRF-QS). The results show that cancer patients with a clear and defined sense of life's meaning tend to have a better quality of life, while those with a diminished or absent life's meaning sense experience a lower quality of life, particularly in physical and emotional dimensions. It is concluded that meaning in life is often reduced at the onset of the illness but can improve with support and treatment. Multiple dimensions influence the quality of life and are more significantly affected in advanced stages, especially in physical and emotional aspects. Therefore, finding purpose and achieving spiritual well-being contributes to better adaptation and enhanced quality of life in cancer patients.
