Shrnutí:Organic Chemistry is an essential science in the academic and professional training of students, where it is not only required to memorize contents but to understand them to be applied in daily life, however, at the Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo, Faculty of Human Sciences of Education and Technology, sixth-semester students of the Pedagogy of Experimental Sciences, Chemistry and Biology degree program present significant difficulties in the learning of Organic Chemistry, due to the deficient use of active strategies that promote the development of their cognitive skills such as thinking and reasoning, forcing them to continue to the memorization of the contents. The objective of this research was to analyze thinking-based learning as a learning strategy for Organic Chemistry through the use of graphic organizers of thought. The research design was qualitative and non-experimental, field and bibliographic type; descriptive level; inductive-deductive and analysis-synthesis methods were applied. The study population consisted of 16 students enrolled in the sixth semester of the course Organic Chemistry. The survey technique was used to collect data, and the questionnaire was used as an instrument. Analyzing the results, it was possible to conclude that thinking-based learning is an essential active methodology that transforms education because it promotes more efficient learning in which students reason and develop the ability to criticize when facing different learning challenges
