總結:The research was raised around the deficiencies of criticality evidenced in the students since, during the pre-professional practices, little mastery was perceived over the correct application of logical, verbal, argumentative reasoning skills related to the ideas disseminated during the class; That is why an analysis of the contribution of the debate as a strategy for the development of critical thinking was pertinent. The disseminated research was framed in a qualitative approach, whose primary data collection technique was the interview with its corresponding instrument: the question guide, which was applied to experts on the subject in the link with the two study variables, to gather consistent information. At the same time, the information was validated and supported in a theoretical way, noting that the debate as an active and cooperative strategy adheres to the development of critical thinking since cognitive processes are evaluated according to the skills of analysis, criticality; that in a certain way determine the aptitudes demanded by the area of Language and Literature; since the student is the one who takes advantage of his knowledge through the investigation, contrast, and validation of information collected from texts, books, etc. Likewise, the debate is a teaching strategy since it becomes a valuable and pertinent tool in learning new knowledge that transforms the reality of education. In this way, society needs to educate an individual who has discernment of criteria, leadership, and independence.
