要約:ABSTRACT Introduction: At present, childhood and youth obesity is considered a global health problem, in Ecuador 14 cases are reported in every 100 children, in Riobamba the prevalence in children and adolescents is high with 24,1% and it is higher in adolescents with 21,5%, hence the importance of identifying early comorbidities, so that preventive or therapeutic measures can be instituted before a concomitant disease appears. Objective: The main purpose of the research is to identify endocrine-metabolic disorders in children and adolescents with obesity treated at the “Instituto Ecuatoriano de Seguridad Social Riobamba” Hospital from 2018 to 2020. Methodology: This research work is analytical, observational, with a retrospective and cross sectional study, because it seeks to establish the relationship existing between the variables and the possible causal factors of endocrine-metabolic disorders, the information will be synthesized through the data matrix, with a population of 177 patients aged 5 to 14 years 11 months. Results: From the study population, 3 patients had diabetes, from which 2 were female, and 18 with subclinical hypothyroidism, affecting men and women. The population with the highest prevalence of endocrine-metabolic disorders was made up by schoolchildren. Conclusions: The close relationship between endocrine-metabolic alterations and obesity was established and the frequency of dyslipidemia, prediabetes, diabetes and hypothyroidism, related to the decrease in HDL and increase in body mass, was determined in the first instance.
