| Streszczenie: | The research determines the antimicrobial activity of Origanum vulgare L. (TYPE) by means of two techniques for extracting active compounds from the plant material (leaves), such as essential oil and hydroalcoholic extract against bacterial strains of Escherichia coli and Salmonella, main pathogenic bacteria transported for food in poor condition or for poor handling in production. An essential oil was elaborated (steam distillation technique), obtaining 22 ml after the procedure, which was diluted with physiological saline, to obtain four concentrations at 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%, similar case carried out for the hydroalcoholic extract dilution to equal quantities of 96% potable alcohol and water, with oregano leaves, previously dehydrated, total amount of extract equal to 45 ml concentrated, subject to four concentrations similar to the essential oil of comparison. In vitro sensitivity tests showed that: the most effective treatment in strains of Escherichia coli essential oil, is 100% (totally pure) with a measured halo of 16.33 mm, qualified in the Duraffourd scale as very sensitive ( ++), the same case for the hydroalcoholic extract , the 100% concentration (totally pure) is the most effective with a halo of inhibition measured equal to 20,33 mm, encasing it on the scale as highly sensitive (+++). The strain Salmonella sp. It determines the effectiveness of the essential oil at the purity level of 25% with a measured halo equal to 13.5 mm, being classified on the scale as sensitive (+), in the same way for the same strain the effectiveness of hydroalcoholic extract is at 75 and 100% rating their performance on the Duraffourd scale as highly sensitive (+++) with halos calculated in mm equal to 29,5 and 31,16 correspondingly. |
