The mixed type methodology of non-experimental, bibliographic, field design was used with an explanatory scope. Documentary research, observation and interview was applied as data collection techniques. The sample of study using a bibliographic review with 60 students and one teacher of Social Sciences determined the use of virtual reality as a didactic strategy in the autonomous learning of Social Sciences , with this aplication of SAMR techno-pedagogical model in the "extension" level. Its action scope is the Social Sciences own contents creation in combination with other didactic strategies based on monophasic activities, such as: games, text analysis, video or photographic visualization. A virtual reality space was built with the Webobook tool, in order to get students respond in better way with short interaction times. With the results, a procedure for the use of virtual reality as a didactic strategy was formulated, based on: The incorporation of the virtual reality strategy within the teaching planning, the selection of complementary activities for Social Science learning pillars, the construction of the virtual reality space using the modified MEDEERV methodology, and the integration of the activities using the TAC.
