Резюме:The present research arises from the problem evidenced in the development of pre-professional practices, finding in students difficulty understanding texts due to a scarce application of strategies in the learning process. Therefore, it aimed to determine how they influence the methodological strategies for developing reading comprehension in students of the fourth year of Basic Education of the "Isabel de Godín Educational Unit" of the parallel "B. The research was qualitative, and observation and survey were used as methods, and observation sheets and a questionnaire were applied to the teacher and 23 students. The application of the instruments found that the students were unmotivated by reading due to the lack of methodological strategies. In some cases, they did not understand what they read due to the inadequate selection of texts that further deepened the problem. Based on this, it was decided to carry out four lesson plans and obtain data through the observation cards that contrasted the before and after when applying methodological strategies in which positive results were obtained. At the end of the research, it was concluded that the application of methodological strategies in the development of reading comprehension is essential to train critical, reflective, competent readers capable of solving any difficulty in daily life. However, it must be considered that reading comprehension. It results from a series of cognitive processes that require sequencing since this skill does not develop in the short term.
