Özet:The landscape of mathematics education has transformed significantly; it has shifted from traditional teaching methods to incorporate new strategies that enhance student participation, mainly through technology. This study aims to explore using TikTok as a pedagogical tool to reinforce the understanding of rational numbers among ninth-grade students of General Basic Education at the Private Educational Unit "Generación Alfa." The research employs a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental, cross-sectional design and an explanatory level. To collect data, a pretest consisting of 10 questions on rational numbers was administered to a sample of 15 ninth-grade students, selected using intentional non- probabilistic sampling. The research hypothesis proposed was: "The use of TikTok as an educational tool improves the academic performance of ninth-grade EGB students at Unidad Educativa Particular Generación Alfa." Upon analyzing the pretest results, it became evident that the students demonstrated some knowledge limitations regarding rational numbers. Consequently, lesson plans incorporating activities utilizing TikTok as a pedagogical instrument were developed. A posttest was then conducted with the experimental group. The results allowed the rejection of H0 and the adoption of H1 with p-value=0.000*<0.05. Therefore, using TikTok as an educational tool is recommended, as it can motivate students to learn.
