Description
Summary:This research work aims to develop a microcurricular planning using the problembased learning method for teaching work and energy in the second year of high school at the "Riobamba" Educational Unit. This study follows a quantitative approach, non-experimental design with a descriptive propositional bibliographic type, which implies a thorough analysis of the theoretical contents addressed in the work and energy unit in the physics subject, as well as the design of a microcurricular planning applying the method. A questionnaire was used as the data collection instrument, whose results identify the difficulties faced by teachers in the mathematics/physics area at the institution. Based on these findings, the proposal for microcurricular planning aims to improve the teaching of work and energy through the problem-based learning model, which focuses on solving practical problems in order to develop analytical skills and promote meaningful learning in students, encouraging them to understand the relevance of work and energy concepts in their daily environment, thus consolidating their understanding of the involved physical principles. Therefore, it fosters student participation in discussions and classroom activities using practical exercises that allow for the improvement of knowledge acquired in physics classes.
