Sumari:Preventive interventions in orthopaedic surgeries are essential to avoid infections at surgical sites. The goal is to reduce the incidence of post-surgical infections, which can cause serious complications, prolong recovery, and increase the need for additional treatment. The methodology used was the implementation of standardised practises such as adequate skin antisepsis, the use of prophylactic antibiotics and the maintenance of a sterile environment in the operating room. These approaches have been supported by studies that demonstrate their effectiveness in reducing infections. The main results obtained were a significant decrease in the rate of infections, reducing prolonged hospital stays, prolonged use of antibiotics and the need for re-surgical interventions. In addition, by reducing infections, efficiency in the use of health resources was improved and a faster recovery of patients was allowed. In conclusion, these interventions not only improved the health and well-being of patients, but also reduced the financial burden on both health institutions and patients, by reducing the need for additional treatments and allowing a more efficient recovery.
