Description
Summary:The emergency contraceptive pill (ECP) is an alternative to contraception. You need to have a sense of the information they have the users, for this reason the study was proposed, aiming to investigate the knowledge, use and side effects. The research is a cross-sectional study, quantitative, involving 500 students from the National University of Loja. The results conclude joint globally and the universities have a good level of knowledge (58.2%), however 37.4% have a poor level of knowledge. The third of 27.8% (139) used emergency contraceptive pill, being for the first time between 18-20 years old, on one occasion, by unprotected sex, presenting headache as adverse reactions and altered menstrual cycle. The neglect of users opting for any method of family planning, is the reason I use the emergency pill over other methods. The need for more collaboration of entities in charge of family planning, especially the Ministry of Health, and similar institutions, for which the users have more information on the contraceptive pill and contraceptive methods Keywords: emergency contraceptive pill, knowledge, use, side effects.
