Sumario:The main objective of this research work was to improve speaking skills through interactive activities as a motivational strategy among students of eighth year “B”. The methods employed in the development of this research were: the scientific, the descriptive, the analytical/synthetic and the statistical methods, which were very useful for the respective analysis and the processing of the information obtained. The instruments such as tests and questionnaires were applied to twenty students of the Miguel Riofrio School of Basic Education to diagnose student’s knowledge and were very useful to evaluate the student's attitude during the intervention plan. The results showed that the use of interactive activities improved significantly student´s speaking. Consequently, they used adequately the grammar structures at the time of speaking, showing fluency, and improving their pronunciation. In addition, interactive speaking activities gave students a participatory role in each class.
