Gaia:This thesis called: THE MUSIC AS A METHODOLOGICAL STRATEGY TO POTENTIATE THE ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF CHILDREN OF PARALLEL INITIAL EDUCATION "A", OF THE MILLENNIUM EDUCATIONAL UNIT "BERNARDO VALDIVIESO" MATCH SECTION, OF THE CITY OF LOJA, PERIOD 2017-2018, is the result of an investigation that had as a general objective, to implement the songs as a methodological strategy in the classroom, to enhance the academic performance of the children. The task of observing and collecting information was carried out using the methods: scientific, analytical, deductive and statistical, applying the techniques and instruments of: observation and checklist to the universe of 22 infants, while the interview was directed to the teacher of the room. The results obtained after the application and interpretation of children's songs in the stages: motivation, delivery of contents and closure of the class, demonstrate the undeniable effectiveness of music in the development of infants, concluding that the implementation of songs as a strategy methodological, favors notably in academic performance, within the teaching-learning process of infants.
