Sumario:The present work of curricular integration, aims to analyze the constructions of memory and identity in: "Lo que aprendí en la peluquería by María Fernanda Ampuero", the study is a qualitative approach, with a documentary design, which uses literary analysis, in the same way, the corpus corresponds to selected emigration chronicles that are collected in the aforementioned book. In order to understand the representations of the memory and identity of the migrant, it is necessary to carry out critical and reflexive processes. Now, among the main results obtained there are, on one side, the representation of historical, collective and individual memory, in fact, historical memory is consolidated from the metaphorical relationship of historical and social events with everyday situations used by María Fernanda Ampuero to contextualize her beliefs, criteria and perceptions of the reality that surrounds her; In terms of social or collective memory, it is represented by the relationship and constant mention of experiences, traditions, values and knowledge that a group of individuals remember as a whole; finally, individual memory is constructed with first-person narration, with constant evocation of particular, family and personal situations. On the other hand, in terms of identity, the findings concern Ampuero's constant reference to Ecuador to emphasize that she feels part of her country of origin, so that she appropriates situations in which it is up to her to mention that something belongs to her, hence it can be said that the chronicler from abroad, Europe, takes a look at Ecuador and consolidates her criterion of belonging as recognition and appropriation from the search of who am I? and who are the others?
