总结: | Burns are skin lesions caused by external agents that, in addition to causing physical skin damage, also affect emotionally, nursing care in a burned patient is crucial in their recovery process. The present work aimed to characterize the participating population, determine the nursing diagnoses and activities based on the needs of hospitalized patients in the burn area of the General Hospital Isidro Ayora de Loja. This research was carried out with a quantitative-qualitative, descriptive and transversal approach; developed during the months of June and July, using as a technique the interview and the assessment of needs according to Virginia Henderson, also other data were obtained from the clinical history and observation. Obtaining as results that 82% of the participating patients were men, the majority between 0 to 11 years of age, unmarried, from the urban sector, with second degree burns produced by fire in their home. Likewise, they presented the diagnoses of deterioration of tissue and skin integrity; sleep pattern disorders, impaired recreational activity, anxiety, and risk of infection; in addition to acute pain and body image disorder. The nursing activities were: care of burn wounds, skin care in the donor and grafted area, comfort, activity therapy and entertainment, decreased anxiety, improved coping, control and protection against infections, administration of painkillers, pain management and body image enhancement.
