要約:The present academic paper is titled "Inefficiency of Ecuador's Criminal Policy in Combating the Crime of Extortion." Its interest lies in investigating and conducting a study and analysis due to the evident violation of certain legal rights such as the right to life, physical integrity, and the property of Ecuadorian citizens. This situation arises from the increase in the crime rate in the country. The rising number of extortion-related crimes has reached alarming levels, requiring a criminal policy following by immediate actions to prevent, control, and eradicate extortion. This paper conducted to demonstrate that both the actions and laws taken by the State are ineffective in the face of the social problem that the country is suffering. The figures, data, and statistics reflect the ineffectiveness of the State's actions, which, due to its lack of attention and intervention, has caused crime and violence to grow and spread in the country. Consequently, the lack of a criminal policy only reflects the State's disregard for addressing this urgent need to study, plan, develop, and implement a suitable criminal policy to face crime organizations. In this academic paper, the use and application of materials and methods were used. Surveys and interviews were conducted with legal professionals, whose results served to propose guidelines aimed at ensuring the fulfillment of the rights to life, physical integrity, and the property of Ecuadorians. These rights are being violated due to the increase in criminal activities throughout Ecuadorian territory.
