الملخص:As a student of the career of Physical Culture at the National University of Loja, perform this thesis project whose subject is known "BASIC SKILLS AND SPEED TESTING IN CHILDREN OF FOURTH YEAR OF BASIC GENERAL EDUCATION SCHOOL LAURO Damerval AYORA, DEL BARRIO TEBAIDA ALTA canton and province of Loja 2014 ,sustained analysis related to the detected problematic situation marked its object was made: learning the basic skills and effectiveness in the sprints, these factors influence significantly in learning and coordination of children. The objective is aimed at assessing the learning of basic skills and effectiveness in the sprints, in which methods and techniques used appropriate The Literature Review consists of the following variables: basic skills, fine and gross motor skills, motor skills, motor learning, motor classification technique sprinting abilities, conditional capacities, Athletics, conceptualization and history. Within the research work I used the following methods that are the inductive method, deductive method, analytical method statistical method, which have been of great use to get the results. Evaluation indicators were applied, these tests allowed us to know the current status of the skills and abilities that students had in the sprints through different exercises, these results have come to make the argument. The discussion is based on the responses of the test applied at the beginning and at the end, where the effectiveness of the proposal is demonstrated as applied to compare initial and final results may well see a significant breakthrough. The conclusions are as follows: Students have an insufficient level of skills and abilities to develop abdominal strength and long jump. There is difficulty in students in the development of low departure for the sprint. Applying proper planning and methodology, students develop basic skills notably athletics. Teachers do not apply the appropriate methodology to develop the skills and abilities that students require for optimal development in the discipline of athletics. Finally we recommend the following: Work according to proper planning that will raise the level of skills and abilities to develop abdominal strength and long jump. That proper methodology, which improves the level in the development of low starting sprinting is used. That development planning is not empirically and appropriate methods used to raise the level of skills in athletics. Teachers use the appropriate methodology for the optimal development of skills and abilities in athletics
