要約:Ecuador is a country where its productive structure is based mainly on: primary production, oil wealth and food products. However, there have been various views on the industrial sector, whether it is a good performance, but also unexpected scenarios. Therefore, this research aims to examine factors that affect the growth rate of industrial production and productivity in the province of Loja during the period 2000 - 2019, using panel data models. We use data taken from the Directory of Companies and Establishments, the National Survey of Employment, Unemployment and Underemployment, and the Central Bank. The results reveal that there is a positive relationship between productivity and industrial Gross Value Added (GVA), which productivity is linked to increases in industrial GVA. A firm-level microdata panel was used to explore one of the main socioeconomic predictors of industrial productivity, wages. These results show that there is a differentiated impact of wages between men and women on industrial productivity. We find that the magnitude of the coefficient is greater when the variable of women's wages is used, thus revealing that women would increase industrial productivity more compared to men when wages increase. The main policy implication suggests that the incorporation of women into the industrial sector would significantly increase productivity. For this reason, policies for the inclusion of women in the world of work, specifically in the industrial sector, are correct.
