| Резюме: | Cocoa beans represent one of the most demanding products in the world market. Ecuador is one of the main producers of fine or aroma cocoa in South America, but low performance is associated to empirical fertilization by some producers. Therefore, it became necessary to evaluate different levels of fertilization to established technical application parameters. The project aimed to test three fertilization levels (0 %, 100 %, 200 %) on the chemical conditions of the soil and the growth of the cocoa tree CCN 51, the fertilization was done in accordance to initial soil analysis and the nutritional requirement in vegetative stage of cocoa trees. The trial was carried out in the experimental farm “El Padmi” belonging of the Universidad Nacional de Loja, during 4 months (July 12, 2020 to October 30, 2020) with a completely random design with three treatments and three replications. Plant height, pH, electrical conductivity, shoot length, length and number of metameres were evaluate ones a month; while the trunk diameter of the graft and plant pattern, trunk cross-sectional area were evaluated at the start and finish at of the trial. At the end of the trial, the plant area, leaf area index, chlorophyll concentration, stomatal density, absolute growth rate and relative growth rate were evaluated. As results obtained until the end of the evaluation, the treatment with double fertilization dose responded with higher values with statistical significance in all the variables evaluated, which indicates that the plants fertilized with this dose in the vegetative stage respond better. But the treatment with 100% fertilization did not present significant values in height, absolute and relative growth rate, only significant statistical differences were found in pH variables at 60 and 80 days, electrical conductivity at 60 days and the outbreak area. Key Words: Foliar area, absolute growth rate, relative growth rate |
