In relation to the results, it was possible to identify that: 70% of mothers range in age from 20 to 35 years, their level of education is higher in 48%, 40% are married, 44% are housewives, and 48% of their income comes from father and mother; regarding the factors associated with the abandonment of EBF: 94% know that breastfeeding is an ideal food for the newborn, 74% consider it to be on demand and every time that the baby asks it. Moreover, it was evidenced the main biological factor is hypogalactia in 36%, and painful and inflamed nipples that present cracks in 30%. In conclusion, the abandonment of breastfeeding may be affected by different factors, however, the low level of knowledge was not a determining factor for it, unlike biological factors that presented a significant problem for the abandonment of EBF
