| Summary: | The previous knowledge is information that the student has stored in his memory, due to the learning made in previous school years, this knowledge allows you to continue with your academic training process so it is necessary that these are optimal. The present research proposes as a general objective to investigate the incidence of the previous knowledge in the learning of the block Algebra and Functions in the students of the First Year of Unified General Baccalaureate of the Educational Unit "Dr. Manuel A. Cabrera Lozano "from the city of Loja, during the 2018-2019 school year. The results of the research show that the level of prior knowledge of the General Basic Education is 6.9 / 10; according to the qualitative scale of the Curricular Reform of the Ministry of Education is that they are close to achieving the required learning (PAAR) and the level of learning of the Algebra Block and Functions is 6.5 / 10 in the same way this is close to achieving the learning required (PAAR), from the above data it is concluded that students have a low level of prior knowledge in Higher Basic Education that has affected the learning of the block Algebra and Functions that as it is exposed is also low level; likewise they present problems in the learning of mathematics such as: clearing of formulas, operations with real numbers, factoring, analysis of functions and properties of the derivatives so it is recommended that when starting the First Year of Baccalaureate the teacher responsible for the subject establish a considerable time to level the students in subjects of Higher Basic Education. |
