Sumari:The present research have a focusing quali–quantitative,where ancestral knowledge and practices of traditional therapists applied in snakebites in the CantónYantzaza described as the snakebites are a serious health problem in tropical and subtropical countries, especially in rural areas, bearing in mind that agriculture is a factor that generates high likelihood of snakebites. We worked with a sample intentional of 20 traditional therapists (uwishin, yachacs, midwives, herbalists and sobadores), of CantónYantzaza, who they give on handling of snakebites, which are mostly male, aged 60 and over, they know form of snakebite, the orifice caused by the incision of the fangs of the snake, the signs and symptoms in addition to treatment implemented sucking bite site, the use of plants, animals, substances chemicals and rituals. For information on traditional therapists, he worked with the representative of the Unit Intercultural of Rights and Participation in Health MSP, of the Province of Zamora Chinchipe.
