Sumari:The present research work called Nutrition and its relationship with the cognitive development of children aged 4 to 5 years from the “La Porciúncula” Private Educational Unit in the city of Loja, proposed a general objective: Analyze the importance of Nutrition. in the Cognitive Development of children aged 4 to 5 years from the Private Educational Unit “La Porciúncula” and three specific objectives: Identify Nutrition in the Cognitive Development of children aged 4 to 5 years from the Private Educational Unit “La Porciúncula” .; Describe strategies to raise awareness among parents of the importance of nutrition in the cognitive development of children aged 4 to 5 years at the “La Porciúncula” Private Educational Unit; Design strategies for parents on adequate nutrition in the cognitive development of children aged 4 to 5 years from the “La Porciúncula” Private Educational Unit. A non-experimental inductive method was used, in addition an observation technique was used, two instruments were also designed, an interview and an observation sheet, and a quasi-experimental design was also applied. As a result, it was observed that the majority of girls present incorrect nutrition, affecting their performance in the classroom, while the remaining children present good nutrition and good cognitive development. In conclusion, it was identified that poor nutrition in children does affect their cognition, causing children to not function correctly in the classroom. In recommendation, it is necessary for parents to inform themselves about how to bring good nutrition to their homes for good cognitive development, looking for good tools and innovative strategies.
