Shrnutí: | Through this research, it was determined the correlate the findings of imaging and pathological in Nodular lesions of the mammary gland in patients attended at the SOLCA Oncology Hospital - Loja, period March - August 2013. The type of study was prospective, descriptive cross-sectional. 154 patients formed the universe and 45 patients sample, who were undergoing imaging studies: mammography and ultrasound, and subsequently confirmed by biopsy. Data was obtained doctor of the "SOLCA" Cancer Hospital system, for which authorization is requested. According to the results, 64% patients corresponded to the category of BI-RADS III (probably benign lesions), 26% to BI-RADS IV (finding suspicious of malignancy), and 8% to BI-RADS V (lesions highly suspicious of malignancy). The diagnosis of malignancy, was 100% in BI-RADS V, and 92% in BI-RADS IV. To BI-RADS III, 89% of the lesions were benign, with a predominance of Mastopatía Fibroquística. In regards to the distribution of nodular lesions of the breast by age, it was determined that there is predominance of them in women older than 35 years, representing 60% of the sample studied, whose results correspond to a 54% diagnostic of malignancy. Through the application of the Bayes theorem, it was determined that adequate correlation exists between the findings of imaging and pathological in Nodular lesions of the breast categorized as BI-RAD IV and V; however for BI-RAD III, the probability of malignancy is three times higher than those reported in the literature. Key words Categories BI-RADS, biopsy, breast lesions. |
