要約:Visual alterations in childhood constitutes a public health problem that is not visualized as a situation to be intervened. The purpose of the present research is to evidence the study of subjective evaluation of visual alteration in children aged 1 to 3 years old in Zone 7 of Ecuador and their relation with the protective and risk factors in the family and community from primary care. The study is based on subjective evaluation of visual alterations through techniques from the Guide for Ecuador Ophthalmologist Children primary care, a survey of the protective and risk factors for visual alterations was applied. The data were registered into the SPSS program for tabulation and determination of results, using Odd Radions, chi-square, results of ρ. V of Cramer. 423 children between 1 and 3 years old who attended to the CIBV of zone 7, were studied, finding 32 children (7, 6%) with visual disturbances (structural, squint, amblyopia, refractory mistakes). The protective factors significantly related to the familiar perception of visual problems and the precedence area; the risk factors related significantly were premature birth, cesarean birth, and incubation at birth. Concluding, primary care is the ideal initial contact for early detection of visual alterations, in an age group suitable for derivation and opportune treatment, as well as prenatal control, birth and postpartum control to reduce risk factors and increase protective factors of visual alterations.
